Yes that was her look in the maniacs until almost the end. Then she reinvented herself, went solo, discovered haute couture and expensive haircuts. Maybe it was driven by the record company, she seems to have reverted back now but then like me, she’s no spring chicken anymore. Having kids plays havoc with your dress sense.

When maniacs played in London for the first time in a small room, she was bursting into tears, wandering off etc. There were only about ten of us in the audience and there was no stage. An odd evening. I did hear that she experimented with LSD around that time, so it may explain it.

Has anyone ever realized Shakira tries to imitate Natalie Merchants voice?…why do I say she copies? cause she sings exactly in the same tone and same efect in her voice…and Natalies been around longer than her so she is definitely copying her I believe…I love Natalie Merchant, shes got one of the most beautiful/powerful voices and she is so classy and not a like female artists these days…
