Is a five-star review on a products or merchant site is a pledge of confidence ?

More and more people give their advices on products or merchant site regarding delivery or quality of the products. How can we trust these people ? Are they
real or just people paid by brands or merchant sites to give us good feedback ?
That is the question isn’t it. My answer is that you don’t know. You do not know the company, you do not know the person who rated the product or site.
If in doubt do your research, what some people call ‘do diligence’. If you want something bad enough you will search every avenue to find out if the product or company is worthy. Just like you ask your friends and family about the stuff they have that you might like. If you do your homework you are therefore taking a calculated risk. There is an old saying that is still true today "Only Fools Jump In".
