How much does it cost to get a merchant account?

Posted on August 30th, 2009 by admin

I am just beginning a website and want to accept credit cards. How much will a merchant account cost? Where is a good place to establish such an account? Thanks.

You can find free offers that waive any setup fees but you should look carefully at the transaction fees. If you do a web search on "merchant account" you’ll see a lot of offers. The rates you’ll pay on the transaction will depend on the average price of your product and the risk of a charge-back. If you get too many charge-backs your price will go up and or you merchant account will get canceled.

To start out small check out Merchant Express
