I have a website and want to accept all forms of online payments. What is the best merchant processing option?

I heard google checkout was the best.

If you don’t have previous merchant processing experience, it might be hard to get a merchant account. The payment processing companies like to see experience and usually ask for personal financial information so you might want to start with a paypal account. Also look at yahoo stores as a good way to get started. After you have some processing experience, you can shop around for a better deal, usually after a year but watch out for signing a contract that is for longer than a year. The fine print usually includes a cancellation fee.

If it’s an online store, try using Google Checkout. I haven’t used it, but it’s worth a shot.

If not, make a Paypal account.
