If i use paypals merchant account on my website can a customer pay me with a credit card without him having a paypal account?

They will still need a Paypal account, because the screen typically shows the shopping cart with the item the customer wants to buy AND the Paypal login screen. They will need to login to Paypal before they can hit the submit button
