Am a merchant that took payment with a mastercard. Payment declined,have only card #. How do I trace it?

The response from the transaction service was general decline. i have no contact info on the individual other than her name and card number and expiration date. how can i trace who carries this card and how to get the purchase to go through?
I would contact Mastercard directly. Since you have the card number they should be able to give you directions on what to do…

the first six numbers of the credit card is the bank’s BIN (bank identification number) not sure if you can check online the list of bank identification numbers. if it’s available online, you can probably ask the bank’s customer service hotline.
