What Do I Need For Merchant Credit Card Processing?

Posted on December 15th, 2009 by admin

I need to start taking payments from my customers through credit card, but I’m not sure how this works. What will I need to start?

First, you will need a merchant account. I suggest learning all you can about them at http://www.merchantaccountbasics.com

You can get a merchant account through your local bank. They can also help you start taking payments. For a fast solution until you get all that setup, you can try using paypal or 2checkout.

You must have a BANK ACCOUNT in the business name first. You must also contact a credit card PROCESSOR. I use my bank (Bank of America) as my processor. Decent credit and a bit of business history will help but may not be totally necessary.
    Good Luck!!!
