merchant account services for sites of adult content?

Posted on September 18th, 2009 by admin

looking for the best and most reasonable merchant account services for a start-up website of adult content with audio download products

CardService International used to do this. Not sure if they still do. It is very hard to get a merchant account if you are doing recurring billing (bill the account every month). One processor that I think still does adult is ccbill.com Not sure of their rates and fees.

Is Selling Merchant Services Profitable? I am looking into that venture since I recently became unemployed.?

Posted on September 14th, 2009 by admin

This is not an easy answer. The first question is, have you every done sales before. Being in sales is hard enough, the merchant services field is even harder. You have to have the personality to do this kind of work, if you are really good you will hear the word "no" 80% of the time. The other issue is that the market is over saturated with companies. You have to really good understanding of the industry which can be very complex if not taught correctly, You also should have an outside of the box marketing approach. The average merchant services rep lasts 6 months in the industry. That is the bad, the good is that with the right research and approach the industry is very profitable. The way it works is such,

When you sign up a client you should receive an upfront bonus anywhere from $100-$700. Then as the client processes credit cards you will receive a % of what they process. For example. If client "A" processes 10K in a month and you charged them a rate of 2.00% you would put about $30 in your pocket. This is not much but the idea is to have 100-1000’s of clients like them. So if you had 100 clients, each doing 10K per month you would be making about $3000 per month.

Now that is the simplest way it can be described but there is alot more than that. You basically make a % of what all your clients processes on a daily, monthly, or yearly basis. What is nice about it is, you are making money even when you are not working. If you sign up a gas station and you are out on a Saturday with friends you are still making money. The gas station is open and is processing credit cards.

There are also many different ways to make money in this field. There are check services, gift cards, gateways, e-commerce, ACH, Advance Me, equipment, monthly, annual, transaction, batch, watt fees and many more.

It would be my recommendation not to jump into anything and make sure you speak in depth to any company you may be think about going with. I would start by looking at this site http://www.greensheet.com/
this is one of the most well know site pertaining to MSP and ISO.(that is what people in the industry are called).

If you like you can shoot me an email of what companies you are thinking about and I could steer you in the right direction. Also if interested I know of a couple of companies that are actually worth talking too.

Hope this helps.

Do you know of a merchant account service that accept funds in Dollars and Euros?

Posted on September 12th, 2009 by admin

Our business is expanding into the UK and would like to use a merchant service that can collect funds in Euros and transfer them to our accounts in dollars. Any idea of a service that can perform this function?

Will you be accepting face to face credit card transactions at a storefront/office in the UK or will you just be accepting cards from folks who live in the UK?

Where you actually process the card makes a difference in how you would go about it. Let me know a little more and I might be able to point you in the right direction.

What is a good payment gateway slash merchant account solution?

Posted on September 9th, 2009 by admin

I am looking for a payment solution for my e-commerce shop. I am interested in a gateway / merchant account combo.

I have heard of Total Merchant Services.

I really need some recommendation.

Thanks!

Payment gateway is a part of an eCommerce merchant account. A merchant account is the service that enables you to accept card payments. Payment gateway is an online service that merchant account providers use for transferring payment details between the merchant website and the bank processing center. The payment gateway will be integrated directly with your shopping cart. The integration process varies by providers and will be handled by their technical staff. Generally the following documents will be required during a merchant account application process:

1. A merchant application – you will have to complete and sign this form. It includes general information about you and your business.
2. A copy of your organization’s Articles of Incorporation, unless you are a sole proprietor.
3. A copy of a voided check for the account that you will want your money to be deposited into.
4. Business or personal financials. Your tax returns for the last two years may be requested if your business is new.

There are many things you need to know when selecting a payment processing provider. The most important issue is processing costs – you certainly don’t want to be overcharged. The costs are comprised of various fees and charges and I have given you a breakdown below.

1. Discount rate – the amount a merchant is charged by his acquirer for processing the merchant’s transactions. It consists of a percentage fee (e.g. 2.19%) and a fixed, per transaction, fee (e.g. $0.25). You should not agree to anything higher than 2.19% + $0.25.

2. Authorization fee – another "per-transaction" fee. You should not pay more than $0.12.

3. Application and set up fee – one-time fees to apply for and set up your account. You should NOT pay ANY set up or application fees!

4. Monthly maintenance fee – as the name suggests, it is charged monthly to keep your account on file. You should not be paying more than $10.

5. Support fee – another monthly charged for customer service. You should NOT pay ANY such fees.

6. Virtual terminal fee – a virtual terminal is the application that you will open in your browser and enter the payment information as you are taking it over the phone or getting it from a form you got in the mail. It should be provided for free.

7. Gateway fee – it should not cost you more than $15 per month.

Once your selection is made and all required paperwork is submitted, the set up of your merchant account should take no longer than two business days.

i HAD a yahoo store, now closed, but am still being charged for merchant services?

Posted on September 8th, 2009 by admin

please check on the closing date of the store,

didnt know where else to write.
tried calling, but got shuffeled and put on hold…. a long time (lil treasures, was the name of the store)

To close your Yahoo! Store you will first need to log in to your Store Manager.
From the Manager click Account Info on the right-hand side of the screen.

Near the bottom of the Account Info page, you’ll see a link to our Exit Survey. Please fill out the survey so we can learn why you’ve decided to close your store. This will help us understand how we can develop and improve our platform and make it work better.

Your store will be closed 5 days after you have filled out the exit survey.

If you close your store in the middle of your monthly billing cycle the charge will still apply for the last full month.

TransTech Merchant Services?

Posted on September 5th, 2009 by admin

what’s the good, the bad and the ugly about TransTech Merchant Services? Please only respond if you have been in contact with this company.

Rip Off Report Report: #215230
Report: Transtech Merchant Group
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/215/RipOff0215230.htm

Simple Payment Systems is truly the absolute best for credit card and electronic check processing. The electronic check processes the check like a credit card. The check is deposited into your account ASAP from your business. If it is bad you know right away. I have done research for a long time. They give you free equipment, free training, free software- with a check out cart! (if you have a web site also that you want to sell items on.) They beat discount rate quotes that you give them too. They have 24 hour live help, which is handy. FDIC insured. Make sure you tell them you want the free program. We switched from another company over to them. And have never been happier. Go to their web site and call them or fill out the form and they can contact you. I did countless hours of research! Trust me they are the BEST.
Best wishes!
