To the person who asked about Shazam check debit from checking account.?

Posted on October 25th, 2009 by admin

I can’t answer you again, apparently. They’re an electronic merchant processing system. They are the ones who add a fee for payments processed electronically.
* You had to have had paid something by electronic check for that amount. That’s just the processing center for it that the company used. You used an electronic check or debit for that amount. They are just the processor.

You can go back on that question, go down to your answer & there should be an edit button so you can add this information.

Merchant payment processor agent oppty – what should I ask before signing up with UBC or 1 of their iso’s?

Posted on September 28th, 2009 by admin

I am looking into becoming an agent for United Bank Card. They are a merchant payment processor….http://www.isoprogram.com/why_ubc/

I would like to know the following:

1) is it still a good oppty to go out and sell and secure new merchant credit card accounts if so why

2) what questions should I ask any merchant processing company I or ISO I am considering working with regarding compensation, my portfolio of new accounts i bring in which is my book of business or my business i build up

4) What are the advantages or disadvantages of working directly with UBC as a agent Versus an ISO or under another agent

5) If i go work with an ISO or under another agent what questions should I ask him

6) If i go work with an ISO or under another agent I am concerned my compensation and accounts i sign up, since i do not know how this works what should i be asking about compensation, accounts that I pick up are they his or mine, can i sell them off at some point etccc

7) what should I be getting paid on new accounts and how when i am selling credit card machines and opening new merchant accounts not sure what is considered good fair or excellent compensation

8) what should i be thinking about when trying to decide with which merchant credit card processor to work for, need to know how to determine whom would be a good company to tie up with since I will be building a residual income from the accounts i bring to them concerned about getting hurt in terms of the accounts i secure which is my book of business and whether I can sell it off or whatever not sure of what I should be asking myself concerning this area, need to know what is it exactly I should be asking them when it comes to any new accounts i bring in related to credit card merchant accounts, pos systems, atm’s…

I’m an ISO for UBC on my spare time. It’s one of the best companies I have worked with yet. Their pay outs are generous and their support staff if helpful. It is a good company because I have been working with them part time for over a year and I haven’t had any problems with them at all.

You will want to know what the residuals they are paying you are, how and when you will be paid them. And when your life time residuals kick in.

What state are you in? I know someone in the business I could refer you to, that could answer these questions for you real well.

International Merchant , how can i accept credit cards from buyers on ebay ?

Posted on September 24th, 2009 by admin

Paypal does not accept my country , and all the other sites that allow me to accept credit cards seem to have the same countries as paypal , Is there any site that processes transactions other than paypal that you know of and allows Lebanon as a merchant account ?

I use Allied Wallet. It is an e-wallet just like paypal, and also provides merchant accounts internationally.

I hope that helps!

What is the porcess of becoming a 2nd Lt. in the Marine Corp. through Merchant Marine Academy?

Posted on September 22nd, 2009 by admin

What is the exact process of becoming a 2nd Lt. in the USMC through Merchant Marine Academy? Do you go to OCS over the summer or are you in an NROTC group?

You can go to OCS, NROTC, or Annapolis (Navy version on West Point).

Merchant Marine has nothing to do with the Marine Corps. They train merchant ship crews and officers, oil tankers, cargo ships, etc.

What is the process to accept foreign currency if you are a US merchant ?

Posted on September 20th, 2009 by admin

What is the easiest was to sell my product out of the US and how do you change and accept currency on my web site I hope someone with experience can answer but I’ll be happy to accept any suggestions…thanks

Two things you need: first, a reliable source of currency conversion rates.

If a customer pays you fifty dollars with Australian dollars, you will have lost $2.50, but if they pay you fifty dollars with Hong Kong dollars, you will have lost $44.

Head over to http://www.xe.com/ to get the reliable currency converter.

Second, you need to speak with your bank and learn if they will charge you to convert the foreign funds to US funds. If they want 5% to convert the money, that $50 sale will only get you $47.50.

So, convert the price to their money and quote that price to them, and get it converted to US funds quickly.

Good luck.

How can i take payments while i wait for my merchant account?

Posted on September 18th, 2009 by admin

To cut a long story short, any ideas on how i can process payments over the internet while i wait for my merchant account?

Would customers be put off by bank transfer or check?

Note: I ship goods. Not going to use paypal and UK based

I would reconsider the Paypal option. There are plenty of businesses who ship goods in the US that accept Paypal. It is fast and secure and the fees are not unreasonable.

Will someone explain echeck processing in understandable terms?

Posted on September 16th, 2009 by admin

I have been hearing the term " echeck processing" from my merchant friends. I don’t have any idea about this linggo. Will someone be kind enough to explain this term?

Let me put it as simple as I can manage. Suppose you have a clothing store. Your customers usually pay cash. But there are customers who do not bring cash with them but instead bring along their check book and pay you with checks. If these customers are your friends, no problem. After all, you know them. You can go to their homes and collect from them if their checks bounce. The problems lies when you do not know the individuals issuing those checks.
This is where echeck processing service become a great help. It allows you to accept checks, verifies that the checks are good, and process the checks . The amount is then deposited in your account. It’s easy, fast and convenient for all concerned. Plus, you increase the number of your customers and your profits in the long run.

How does dispute process between a Finanical org like a bank and merchant work??

Posted on September 12th, 2009 by admin

I have been recently ripped off by guys in Tokyo for around 1500$. They got hold of my Visa number and did transactions over the weekend. Bank alerted me on Monday morning and asked if I were in Tokyo. Hell no! I am in US. Bank had me sign the affidavit and all the paperwork and deposited the money provisionally into my account and are now disputing the transactions. How does the dispute process work between the bank and the guy who made those transactions. Visa sure does have the Merchant ID and related stuff of people in Tokyo who made the transactions. How are they going to hunt them down? Will they be successful in doing so most of the time? If they are not what will happen? Will the bank write it off as a loss or cut my money? Any pointers or detailed explanations of the whole process of dispute will be very much appreciated

Visa and MasterCard’s number one goal is to protect the customer. The bank will contact the merchant and request information about the transaction. They will look at how the transaction was processed. Was it swiped? Hand keyed in? Those are the factors they want to know. They want to merchant to prove the legitimacy of the transaction. To the merchant it will be seen as a chargeback , and merchants will do their best to fight that chargeback. Too many of those and they can get their merchant account revoked. In your case, you will most likely win the dispute. You will keep your money. Visa will eat the loss (not really, losses are built into the APR). The merchant will get a chargeback on their account, and lose the merchandise that was bought. It will be up to the merchant to report the criminal to the police. Visa will not hunt them down, only provide evidence.
