Gatherings for network-marketing financial services?

Posted on August 23rd, 2009 by admin

I am involved with a company that markets financial services such as life insurance, investments, debt consolidation, merchant credit card services, etc. I need to find customers to do field trainings with my trainer. I am looking for ideas.

Do you know of great social gatherings where I could meet approachable head-of-households to introduce myself to?

Please do not take offense – but it will be very difficult to find "…approachable head-of-households to introduce (yourself) to"

If you try this with your circle of friends and acquaintances you might find yourself with less friends and acquaintances. It is a very delicate matter and you might be surprised by how tough it can be. Especially if your trainer is high pressure.

Just my two cents. This is a very tough business and I wish you well.

Do i need a merchant account to accept credit card payments through Pay pal?

Posted on August 21st, 2009 by admin

I am starting my own online business and need to accept credit cards. I have looked at the services that paypal web payments standard have and like them. However i need to know if i have to have a merchant account or can i just use my own/business’s account ?

No. That is what Paypal is all about. They act as your credit card processor. Just be sure and get setup well in advance of your first transaction as it takes a number of days to get setup due to bank verifications for your account for deposits.

Have you ever sold merchant services? Equip, software, and service for bus to accept credit cards?

Posted on August 19th, 2009 by admin

I’m a recent graduate. It’s a tough job market right now. I was offered a job for a company who sells merchant services, basically the hardware software and service to accept credit cards for businesses. They say it’s a career sales job but it’s a call center environment and the base is only 25k.I have a feeling this may be one of those companies that burn and turn their employees and kind of prey on new grads. This isn’t exactly what I was looking for but am open to it if there’s decent commissions to make and if its a good business to be in. Have you worked in this industry? What do you think?

Hi, I work for a registered ISO/MSP for Visa and MasterCard (six years now) who operates in this manner so I know what you’re in for.

You definitely can make good money doing this if the commission structure is good and they make sure the phone keeps ringing. The fact that they give you a base salary is good as you are at least guaranteed some kind of income. Your only real challenge then is to make sure you close the deals.

My advice to you is to keep it simple. Since they are doing all of the advertising for you you can play off of it (basically just re-explain/reiterate the offer) and not have to worry about having a complex sales technique. Definitely keep it simple. The more you explain to a merchant the more confused they will be. If they ask you questions, answer them. But don’t try to teach them about merchant accounts. You’ll lose them every time.

Basically keep it simple, and be consistent. If you do you will be successful and make good money. I did.

I run the site below if you need to verify my knowledge.

Do bankcard merchants services have on-line summary of all credit card transactions that i submitted to them?

Posted on August 17th, 2009 by admin

I want to keep track of the amount i billed to my customers who use visa and mastercard to pay their accounts. Does bankcard have an on-line facilities where i can access a summary of all credit card transactions that were submitted to them for processing including the related charges? Discover Network and American Express have this facility. Hoping you could help me guys with this problem. Thanks

Your credit card processing provider is the source for your info.

You need to contact the company that sends you the monthly merchant statements.

Most companies will provide this info as a premium feature.

Simply look on your monthly statement for a Customer Service phone number or web address.

Posted on August 12th, 2009 by admin

Does anyone know how much a Merchant Services (credit card processing) Call Center Outbound Sales Manager makes???(Base plus commission) Team is 20 reps…

I would like to hear real examples not from salary.com please.

location: Chicago,IL

I want to know the salary of a Sales Manager(boss) not Sales Rep…

In this industry it all depends on the size and business model of the Merchant Service Company. Most of them pay a real low salary $300 / week draw against commission.
