How does the Merchant of Venice teach us about friendship?

How does the Merchant of Venice teach us about friendship? (Please use evidence from the text)

Thank you.

I’m assuming your question is one you’ve been asked to respond to for an assignment, so I think it would be best to read the play and to figure out the answer for yourself. However, I will tell you that The Merchant of Venice does not teach the lesson of friendship. It teaches TOLERANCE.

What type of character is the crystal merchant from the book The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho?

Posted on November 14th, 2010 by admin

Is the crystal merchant static or dynamic, and is he flat or round? I don’t really exactly what all the flat round, static dynamic, differences are. I just know one is changing, and the other is unchanging. But what would make the crystal merchant flat/round and static/dynamic?

The crystal merchant wohldntbe static, as his
mind defonately changes views on life after the
boyhelps him. Though his mindset is still the same,
his belief is stronger

What happens if a merchant issues a return on an item on a credit card that has a zero balance?

Posted on November 12th, 2010 by admin

For example, I pay off my credit card, I have a zero balance. I decide i don’t want something and return it to the merchant, how will the new balance look like? Will it affect the outcome of my highest available balance
obviously but if my credit limit show as higher because of this

Simple, it becomes a credit balance. If you don’t use the credit you may ask for a check.
Your limit will NOT show higher. Your account will show a negative amount due.
This is not an extreme action it happens all the time…………..

How much does it cost to get a merchant account for online order, and which do you recommend?

Posted on June 29th, 2010 by admin

I don’t know very much about merchant account, but I’m a retailer and do business selling products online. Which merchant account do you recommend, how much is the monthly fee and which do you recommend in addition?

I would be careful which one i choose. you have to figure out the cost per transaction they charge. You want to be sure thatnthey will help you, if your machine quits working-you have to be sure they will send you your money when it’s due. I would try locally and have them come to you and discuss
their set-up.

Is a VISA merchant allowed to levy a surcharge for use of credit card?

Posted on May 10th, 2010 by admin

This is my kids tuition collection service, so it’s not the neighborhood pizza parlor where you shrug you shoulders and pay.

It comes out to A LOT of money on an ongoing basis.

So my question is whether VISA allows this under some merchant agreements, or is it worth threatening them with a complaint?

According to VISA’s website, merchants "may not
impose any surcharge on a Visa transaction. You may, however, offer a discount
for cash transactions, provided that the offer is clearly disclosed to customers
and the cash price is presented as a discount from the standard price charged for
all other forms of payment."
Convenience fees are allowed:
"For merchants who offer an alternate payment channel for customers to pay for
goods or services, a convenience fee may be added to the transaction amount.
If the merchant chooses to assess a convenience fee to its customers, the merchant
must adhere to the following rules:
• The fee is being charged for a bona fide convenience of using an alternative
payment channel outside of the merchant’s normal business practice (see
example below).
• The fee:
– must be disclosed to the customer as a charge for the convenience of
using the alternate method to pay
– is applied only to non face-to-face transactions
– must be a flat or fixed amount, regardless of the amount of the
payment due
– is applied to all forms of payment products accepted in the
alternative payment channel
– is included as part of the total transaction amount
– cannot be added to a recurring transaction
– is assessed by the merchant that provides the goods or services to the
cardholder and not a third party
• The customer must be given the opportunity to cancel prior to the completion
of the transaction"

What’s difference between merchant account and affiliate account?

Posted on March 4th, 2010 by admin

Hi. What’s difference between merchant account and affiliate account in an affiliate program?

Can you describe each one? Thanks.

On a directory like Clickbank, a merchant account is held by the person who provides the product, like an eBook. And the Affiliate is the person who promotes the sale of that same eBook (or any other product) through Adwords, blogs, articles, etc.

What is the best merchant processing solution?

Posted on February 28th, 2010 by admin

If you want to take credit card orders (or pre-orders), what is the best merchant processing solution?
I’ve heard the PayPal and Google Checkout will freeze your funds if even a single person complains about your service to them.

Hi I am new here and I am starting with your answerer. If you don’t care about the customer leaving your site:
Amazon Payments (underrated in my opinion)
PayPal
Google Checkout
If you need to seamlessly integrate a payment form in your site:
-PayPal Payments Pro ($30/month for a virtual terminal and API integration, no contracts, 2.9% transaction, it’s really hard to find a merchant company that can beat this unless you’re talking in volumes).
-Authorize.net coupled with the merchant company of your choice.
When evaluating a merchant company, beware of contract stipulations, transaction fees, and monthly fees. My first provider was Cardservice International (one of the largest) and I used LinkPoint for the online gateway. I was paying $60-80/month just for the service! (transaction fees excluded) AND I was locked in a 2-year contract with an insanely high cancellation fee. One of their fees was a mandatory $20 "customer service fee" for access to their 24/7 customer service team. (WTF?)
Just be careful when evaluating merchant companies. Try starting at your bank (as long as it’s not Chase, BoA, or Wells Fargo). Generally, local community banks or credit unions will have fair pricing and good customer service for merchants.

How long can a merchant provider freeze funds legally?

Posted on February 6th, 2010 by admin

A clients merchant account was frozen by First Data and is claiming they are freezing his funds and thus can not pay my invoice. Months have gone by, same excuse. Before I simply just take him to court for non-payment how much validity is there in his story? How long can a merchant freeze an account and hold his funds?

Funds can be held for a short period of time to verify them.

Is a five-star review on a products or merchant site is a pledge of confidence ?

Posted on December 10th, 2009 by admin

More and more people give their advices on products or merchant site regarding delivery or quality of the products. How can we trust these people ? Are they

real or just people paid by brands or merchant sites to give us good feedback ?

That is the question isn’t it. My answer is that you don’t know. You do not know the company, you do not know the person who rated the product or site.

If in doubt do your research, what some people call ‘do diligence’. If you want something bad enough you will search every avenue to find out if the product or company is worthy. Just like you ask your friends and family about the stuff they have that you might like. If you do your homework you are therefore taking a calculated risk. There is an old saying that is still true today "Only Fools Jump In".
