Credit Card Merchant Accounts?

Posted on September 8th, 2009 by admin

I recently submitted an application for a business credit card merchant account. It is an existing business with an existing merchant account with another company. This new provider wants me to give them my social security number even though the company has its own EIN/tax ID. Why would they want my social? Does this open me up to financial liabilities of the company? I know if they hard pull my credit information, this has a negative impact on my personal credit rating. The other option is to jump through hoops of sending several years tax returns and months of bank statements. What is the best course of action?
We have been in business for almost 7 years so it is not from lack of history.
This is not for a business credit card, it is for a merchant account to process credit cards.

When a merchant applies for a merchant account, there are a number of documents that he or she will have to submit. Whether your business is new or an existing one, the application process is the same.

As far as credit history is concerned, a review of the business’ financial performance will almost certainly be done during the application process. A typical request a card processing company will make is to see the business’ financial statements for the latest two years. The organization’s principals will also be scrutinized and they are usually required to provide their tax returns for the latest two years. If not satisfied by the information in the tax returns, the merchant services provider will pull their credit files. Either way, SSN must be provided. You need to understand that banks view a merchant account as a form of a line of credit and the application process is designed accordingly.

what is the cheapest adult credit card merchant account that I successfully apply for from outside USA?

There is no one answer I can give to who provides the cheapest rate. To find the cheapest you just have to shop around, and get a few quotes from different processors. If you can get approved domestically then your rates will automatically be around 5% cheaper.

Feel free to get a free quote from my company, Ballistic Merchant Services. We approve high risk accounts both domestically and offshore. Just follow the link below click on the apply now button.

Can somebody tell me what regulates or governs transactions between a merchant and a credit card company?

Posted on September 1st, 2009 by admin

I want to file some formal complaints involving my business merchant account and a credit card company. Trying to figure out the best way to go. Do I file a complaint with the state they are located in via attorney general? Appreciate any ideas.

The State they are Incorporated in governs their applicable laws. This should be clearly listed in the agreements they sent you.

credit card payment debited but merchant not got the amount?

Posted on August 30th, 2009 by admin

i had made a online payment from my HDFC bank credit card for indiatimes shopping. amount has been credited to my credit card but merchant is denying that having received that money, in fact my order also has been cancelled.
but bank is not providing me enough proof with that i can prove to merchant that payment has been credited to his account.
what i can do in this regard. Anoone has answer for it?

Take a print out of the proof that you paid. go to the bank and ask them to do the needful. If the payment is not yet made, they will proceed with the payment. If that can not be done then they will refund you.

Normall banks will not refuse to help in this matter as this is a very known issue. try to have a written proof of everything so if you have to proceed legally that will help.

when they say the merchant credit card is charged?

Posted on August 28th, 2009 by admin

do they mean the business credit card or the person’s personal credit card?

The business is charged for the credit card transaction. The business should not charge you extra when you use your credit card. The merchant may add an extra charge to the merchandise, but you should only pay the price for the merchandise plus sales tax.
