How do I know if funds have been deposited into my merchant account?

Posted on October 12th, 2009 by admin

How do I know if funds have been deposited into my merchant account? and can you refer merchant account providers(ehem free would be great!) that can deposit funds at the shortest time possible?

Whenever you process a sale and get an approval you can expect the funds to be deposited into the bank account you specified in the application you completed within two business days of batching out your terminal for Visa and MasterCard. American Express and Discover Card can take up three days to fund.

Now some banks have a special relationship with some processing banks and in those cases you can receive your funds within one business day. If the bank you have your bank account through has a relationship with your processing bank you may be able to get your funds this fast. You will need to ask the merchant account provider if this applies to your bank.

If a processing bank takes more then two days to deposit your funds you might want to consider moving to a new processor. Although delays in funding do happen they are rare and should not occur regularly.

To verify you have received your funds simply login into your bank account through their website, or even go in and pay them a visit, to see if a deposit has been made.

Is a crime committed if an employee pays with her credit card for clients purchases?

Posted on October 12th, 2009 by admin

An employee used her credit card to pay a substantial amount of purchases of over a hundred clients. It can be surmised that the clients paid in cash to said employee. The credit card payments do not tally with the dates the receipts were issued. The credit card payments were made 4 to 60 days after the receipts were issued. This cost the company losses in credit card merchant fees. Is there criminal liability here or is this just a case of a violation of company policy?

Are they legitmate charges to your clients? Were the clients billed?

Remember there is lag time , look at your statements
when you make a purchase, sometimes it doesnt show that it was processed until the next day, for several ones.

One of them is that the merchant forgot to batch out.

Do you even know your only company policy?

What didyou say to him or her when she submitted the receipts to your accountant?

Or are you an employee looking for a way to get her fired or in trouble?

Why doesn’t your company audit these transactions?

Why did your company accept the charges?

E-commerce help. Shipping question.?

E-commerce help. Shipping question.?
How does shipping work exactly, if I get a Yahoo! merchant ecommerce, then the ecommerce site will come up with a shipping price automatically, but at the post office, it is determined by weight. Is there ever a conflict in the prices at the post office and what the site generates for shipping

Many ecommerce solutions allow for entry of the weight of each item, and then use a table or API to determine the shipping cost based on the total weight of the order.

Unfortunately, this isn’t always accurate, because sometimes the weights are incorrect, or additional packaging is required, or items have odd shapes that trigger surcharges.

Of those merchants who charge based on "actual shipping cost" (and not a flat fee or standard rates), I would estimate that 90% to 95% would never charge the customer extra if the actual shipping cost were greater than the charge presented to the consumer at the time of purchase, unless the mistake were "obvious" (for example, if the consumer was told that their forklift weighed only 1 pound, but the real weight is 3,814 pounds).

How do I become a Merchant marine officer if I am older than 25?

Posted on October 10th, 2009 by admin

I just recently obtained my TWIC card and MerchantMarine license. I saw the merchant marine academy website and it says that you cant be over 25 if you would like to join the merchant marine officers academy. So what other way or rout can i take to become an officer?

There are six state funded maritime academies. They do not have the same age limit on students as USMMA:

California Maritime Academy:
http://www.csum.edu/
Great Lakes Maritime Academy:
http://www.nmc.edu/maritime/
Maine Maritime Academy:

Massachusetts Maritime Academy:
http://www.maritime.edu/
SUNY Maritime:
http://www.sunymaritime.edu/
Texas Maritime Academy:
http://www.tamug.edu/Corps/

The appropriate degree from a Maritime Academy takes the place of experience for the Third Mate (Ocean Unlimited) License and the Third Assistant Engineer’s License (Steam and/or Motor Vessels, Unlimited):

what is ach merchant services?

Posted on October 10th, 2009 by admin

ACH stands for Automated Clearing House and is a fancy way of saying electronically transferring money to and from bank accounts. So a merchant services provider offering ACH services is offering you the ability to accept payments by checks electronically which in effect makes them very similar to accepting check cards. The money comes directly from the user’s checking account and goes into yours.

software requirements for webhosting.?

Posted on October 8th, 2009 by admin

Hi,
Our Organization is planing to host a in-house website. They developed with C#.Net with SQL as database. My Question is what are the softwares required for hosting the website that should support the below requirements.
1.ASP v3.0,.NetFramework1. 1,Access Database DSNs,PHP 4.3 Scripting,CGI Bin and SSI,MDAC 2.8,ADO 2.8,Microsoft XML 4.0 SP2,Site Builder Tool,Photo Album Creator,Express Site Creation,Custom Site Creation,Windows Media HTTP Streaming,Flash/Shockwave,Microsoft® FrontPage 2002,
ECOMMERCE FEATURES
Merchant Manager,Integrated Merchants Include,Papal, Secure Trading,World pay,Virtual SSL
EMAIL FEATURES
50 POP3/Email Accounts,SMTP/Outgoing Mail,Catch-All Email Account,Web Based Interface,Sit email,Unlimited Aliases/Forwarding,Auto Responders,1 FTP Account(s)
SECURITY FACILITIES
Firewall Protected
Please let me know the software’s that required that should support the above features. Thank you fro the help.

Windows Server 2000 – 2003 32-bit as you base sever. Comes with IIS 5 or IIS 6, which supports ASP 3.0

You can get the Zend / PHP engine for Windows directly from http://www.php.net

IIS natively supports SSI. Perl (which you probably mean when you say CGI) is available from http://www.perl.com as a 32-bit executable.

MDAC 2.8,ADO 2.8,Microsoft XML 4.0 SP2: All these are built-in to Windows Server 2000 – 2003 or can be downloaded directly from Microsoft.

Site Builder Tool,Photo Album Creator,Express Site Creation,Custom Site Creation — this software is up to you. There are a number of freeware apps out there such as Joomla, Gallery, etc.

Windows Media HTTP Streaming — this is built into Windows Server 2003 and is available as an add-on for Windows Server 2000. However, support for it is scant; you will pay a hefty price to a consultant to get this up and running.

Merchant Manager,Integrated Merchants Include,Papal, Secure Trading,World pay,Virtual SSL: This is available for free in ZenCart.

50 POP3/Email Accounts,SMTP/Outgoing Mail,Catch-All Email Account,Web Based Interface,Sit email,Unlimited Aliases/Forwarding,Auto Responders,1 FTP Account(s): This is all supported by IIS with built-in SMTP and FTP service, but I would upgrade to SmarterMail http://www.smartertools.com/

Firewall Protected: This depends on your network. Generally speaking, proper router setup and network intrusion detection should suffice.
